This research discusses briefly one of the many problems in psycholinguistics related to the memory process in language learning. This is because the ultimate goal of any learning activities is to achieve proficiency which can only be done when students are able to remember what they have learnt. In this thesis, the researcher tries to discuss of the students' inability to remember lessons in Arabic language within a week between the tests of short term memory and long term memory. This research also tries to find out the students' attitude towards the importance of remembering lessons as well as to know how far the students' practise the strategies in memory skills. This research involves 10 Arabic language students of Universiti Teknologi MARA. The methodology of this research comprises questionnaire and three different types of tests. Each student is given an adapted passage, and as soon as he has finished reading the text, he is required to go through three short term memory tests. After one week, he is once again required to go through three long term memory tests. It is hoped that this research is able to give a clearer picture of the students'problem related to memory and to give benefits to all individuals involved in teaching and learning as well as to make it applicable especially in the field of language learning.
